Procedure Overview
1.  Upload a Schedule File Directly to the Online Planroom
2.  Publish Gantt Schedule to the Online Planroom
3.  Add a Milestone to the Gantt Schedule
4.  Add a Phase to the Gantt Schedule
5.  Using Predecessors and Dependent Tasks
The Schedule tab of a project is home to the Gantt Schedule component. The Gant schedule is a special chart used to illustrate scheduled tasks and milestones within the project. Good scheduling helps to control production constraints, facilitate the timely procurement of materials, and otherwise ensure the completion of a project as soon as possible.

Gantt Schedules created in RedTeam (or imported into RedTeam from MS Project) can be managed, updated, and published to the Schedule Updates section of a Project. Schedules that have been published or uploaded to the Schedule Updates can be shared in your Project's Online Planroom.

As the schedule is changed over time, previous iterations of the schedule updates will be maintained within RedTeam. The Schedules will always be on file for the Project under the Schedule Updates page of the Progress tab.

1. Upload a Schedule File Directly to the Online Planroom

Within RedTeam, it is possible to upload a Schedule from a third-party scheduling program (i.e. Microsoft Project, Suretrack, etc.) directly to the Online Planroom.

To make a Project Schedule available in the Online Planroom so that it can be viewed and downloaded by field employees, superintendents, and subcontractors, you will upload a schedule file (such as .PDF or .MPP) directly to the Schedule Updates page of the project. Be aware that only the most recent schedule update will appear in the online planroom, but older schedule updates will be maintained within RedTeam.

Path:
Project | Home menu | Schedule Updates OR Project | Schedule Tab | Manage Icon | Schedule Updates
Steps:
• From the Project's Home menu, click "Schedule Updates" See Figure 1.
• Click the New (+) icon See Figure 2.
• Fill in the required fields about the Schedule: Schedule Name, Schedule Author, and Anticipated Completion Date See Figure 3.
• Click "Add File" to upload a Schedule file from your computer (MS Project, PDF, etc.)
• Click "Save"
• To make the Schedule available in the Online Planroom, click the tools icon and click "Commit" See Figure 4.

2. Publish Gantt Schedule to the Online Planroom

You can make a Project’s Gantt Schedule available in the RedTeam Online Planroom so that it can be viewed and downloaded by field employees, superintendents, and subcontractors. To do this, you will publish the Gantt Schedule, then commit the Schedule Update that it creates.

Steps:
• Click "Manage"
• From the Project's Home menu, select "Gantt Schedule" See Figure 1.
• Click "Edit" in the top right See Figure 2.

3. Add a Milestone to the Gantt Schedule

When you have the Gantt Scheduling component active in RedTeam, Milestones are handled as part of it. Good scheduling helps to control production constraints, facilitate the timely procurement of materials, and otherwise ensure the completion of a project as soon as possible. Milestones are used as "checkpoints" in a project to evaluate how a project is progressing and validate states of completion. The Performance Overview report can include Milestones to share detail about the state of completion on the project. To create new Milestones in the Gantt Schedule, you will convert a task into a milestone with the instructions below.
Path:
Project | Home Menu | Gantt Schedule OR Project | Schedule Tab
Steps:
• Within the project, click the Schedule tab
• Click the Edit button to edit the schedule See Figure 1.
• Right click on the task you want to turn into a Milestone
• Click “Convert to Milestone” from the dropdown menu See Figure 2.

4. Add a Phase to the Gantt Schedule

Good scheduling helps to control production constraints, facilitate the timely procurement of materials, and otherwise ensure the completion of a project as soon as possible. Tasks within the schedule can be converted to Phases. Phases allow you to organize your tasks and use phase categories for your progress reports. To tag tasks as phases in the Gantt Schedule, follow the instructions below.

Path:
Project | Home Menu | Gantt Schedule OR Project | Schedule Tab
Steps:
• Within the project, click the Schedule tab
• Click the Edit button to edit the schedule  See Figure 1.
• Right click on the task you want to turn into a Phase
• Click “Convert to Phase” from the dropdown menu See Figure 2.

5. Using Predecessors and Dependent Tasks

Within the Gantt Schedule, tasks can be set as predecessors to other tasks to indicate a chain of dependencies. These predecessors and successors demonstrate visually the sequences in which the tasks must be completed in order to complete the project. When editing the Task Information of a dependent task, you can add one or more predecessors and the chart will visually indicate their links with arrowed lines.

The predecessor connection can be set to link the tasks in several ways: Finish-To-Start, Start-To-Finish, Start-To-Start, or Finish-To-Finish. The connection can also be given a lag time, leaving a set number of days between the first task and the second. The predecessor details can be quickly edited by double-clicking the task line when the schedule is in Edit mode.

Path:
Project | Home Menu | Gantt Schedule OR Project | Schedule Tab
Steps:
• Within the project, click the Schedule tab
• Click the Edit button to edit the schedule See Figure 1.
• To add a predecessor/successor from scratch right click on the existing task and select "Add" See Figure 2.
• To use an existing task as a predecessor, right click the task that you wish to be the successor
• Click Task Information See Figure 3.
• Click the Predecessors tab See Figure 4.
• Click “+Add New”, select the existing predecessor from the dropdown, then set the type and lag time between tasks, if necessary See Figure 5.
